What this website does with your details
This notice covers boroughlets.com: the enquiry form and nothing else. It is short because the site does very little. How the platform handles council data is a separate and much longer subject.
What this website collects
Reading this site collects nothing. There are no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no embedded video from anywhere else, and no scripts from any other company. Nothing is stored in your browser and nothing about your visit is sent to a third party. That is not a policy we operate: the site's content security policy will not load anything from another origin, so it could not happen by accident.
The one place you can give us anything is the enquiry form. It asks for what you would like from us, your name, your organisation, your work email address, your role, roughly how many households your service has in temporary accommodation, and an optional message. Nothing else is collected, and none of it is required beyond what the form marks as required.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
To answer you, and for nothing else. Your details are not added to a marketing list, not used to profile you, and not shared with or sold to anyone. We do not send marketing email.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have contacted a supplier about a product, and replying to you is what you asked for. If you would rather we did not hold the enquiry at all, say so in the message and we will answer and then delete it.
Who else sees it
Amazon Web Services, in the London region, hosts this site, runs the function that receives the form, and handles the email. The raw message is kept in storage there for 90 days and then deleted automatically. The enquiry is then forwarded to the mailbox we read day to day, which is run by a commercial email provider.
Nobody else. There is no customer relationship system behind this form, no lead scoring, and no data broker.
How long we keep it
The raw message expires from storage after 90 days. The copy in our inbox is kept for as long as the conversation is live and, in any event, no longer than twelve months after we last hear from you, unless you have become a customer and it forms part of the contract record. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will.
Your rights
For the details you send through this form, BoroughLets is the controller. You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to us holding it, or ask us to restrict what we do with it. Email hello@boroughlets.com and we will answer within one month, usually much sooner.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at gov.uk/data-protection. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
The platform is different
This notice is about the website. If you are a resident whose details are held in the BoroughLets platform by your council, the council is the data controller, not us: your rights are exercised against the council, and the council publishes its own privacy notice. We act on the council's written instructions. How that works is set out in full on the security page.

If this notice changes in a way that matters, the date below changes with it. It was last reviewed on 20 September 2026.
